Scientific Name: Panthera pardus

Size: Head and body 3.3-6.3 feet (100-190cm); tail length 2.3-3.1 feet (70-95cm)

Weight: 66-155 pounds (30-70kg)

Distribution: Africa Sourth of the Sahara, and South Asia; N. Africa, Arabia, far East

Habitat: From tropical rain forest to arid savanna; from cold mountains almost to urban suburbs.

Diet: Wide-ranging; includes gazelles, antelope, goats, wild pigs, domestic livestock, monkeys, dogs, and bat-eared foxes

Reproduction: After a gestation period of 13-15 weeks, female gives birth to 1-6 cubs

Longevity: Up to 12 years (20 in captivity)

Population: Estimated at below 10,000

Status: Vulnerable
