The movie White Lion is available on Blu-ray disc, so I picked up a copy and watched it recently. Here is my review of the film.

I set up my projector and big screen and began watching the movie. The film is 1.78 anamorphic widescreen, so if you have a widescreen tv, it will nicely fill your screen with no black bars at the top and bottom like films shot in wider aspect ratios. The picture quality in my opinion was nothing short of stunning! I felt at times as though I was right there in Africa! Many times I found myself asking how on earth did they get this footage on film!

The story follows a young boy who is asked to protect a rare white lion cub who was rejected by his pride and forced to survive on his own. I found the story to be incredibly interesting, and had me hooked wanting to see more right from the beginning! The film progresses to include scenes of which I was completely amazed and a bit bewildered as to how this was actually caught on film! Some scenes were a bit intensive and I found myself on the edge of my seat rooting for this little white lion cub! If you have not seen the movie, I will not include any spoilers here. I can only tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed this film from beginning to end, and highly recommend the blu-ray edition of this film for it’s spectacular visuals and top notch sound!

If you have any interest at all in big cats or lions in particular, you must see, and should own this film on blu-ray disc!

There is also some bonus behind the scenes feature that will explain how they managed to capture some of the scenes in this incredible film! I would advise to watch the film first, then watch the bonus feature.
